INFLUENCE OF INTEGRATED PAYROLL AND PERSONNEL INFORMATION SYSTEM (IPPIS) ON ATTAINMENT OF ACADEMIC OBJECTIVES OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE

Abstract
This research examined the influence of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) on the attainment of academic objectives of Federal University of Technology, Akure. Specifically, the study aimed to determine whether IPPIS contributes significantly to teaching in FUTA; examine the effect IPPIS has on research in FUTA; investigate whether IPPIS increases community service in FUTA and lastly to study the influence of IPPIS on innovation in FUTA. The survey research design was adopted and respondents were selected using the random stratified technique. Both descriptive and Chi-Square tests statistics were used to investigate the objectives of the study. It was concluded that IPPIS had positive and significant influence on the attainment of academic objectives of FUTA (the objectives included teaching, research, community service and innovation). The study recommended that IPPIS should be allowed to suit the peculiarities of Nigerian University System by involving university staff in its reviews and implementation.
