RELEVANCE OF EARLY COUNSELLING INTERVENTION TO THE UNDERACHIEVEMENT OF GIFTED STUDENT

Abstract
The paper discussed the relevance of early interventions to underachievement of gifted students. Important issues related to the issues highlighted, such as counselling intervention and counselling interventions, under achievement and underachievement in gifted students, strategies for the under achievement, counselling and instructional interventions, self-regulated learning, The Prism Metaphor Model, Rimm's Trifocal Model and its six steps, alliance for the student underachievement as well as several interventions that can serve as steps toward underachievement in gifted students. Some suggestions to assist teachers were also made to make to make the intervention successful. Some recommendations concerning of gifted underachievement student.
