Abstract

This study focused on the transformation agenda and sustainable development in Nigeria in Goodluck Jonathan Administration, 2011-2015. The study was carried out because of the challenges which affected the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration (2009-2015) in its efforts to enhance socio-economic development in Nigeria. The work was anchored on social contract theory. The work used secondary sources of data which were collected through published materials. The data collected were discussed qualitatively. It was found that there is significant impact of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan transformation agenda on educational development in Nigeria, there is significant relationship between Goodluck Ebele Jonathan transformation agenda and security of lives and properties; and there is significant impact of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan transformation agenda in promotion of accountability. Based on the findings, the study recommends that there is need for the present administration to maintain and sustain the investment which the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration made in education. Again, the Nigerian government should do everything possible to end insecurity and secure lives and properties of citizens in the country.
