MANAGEMENT OF INNOVATIVE EDUCATION FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGS) IN UNIVERSITIES IN DELTA STATE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study looked at how public universities in Delta State, Nigeria, managed creative education to meet sustainable development goals. For the investigation, a descriptive survey design was chosen. The employees of Delta State's five public universities made up the study's population. Using stratified random selection procedures, a sample of 120 respondents from Federal Universities and 240 respondents from State Universities were chosen at random. For the study, two research questions and two hypotheses were developed. The data was collected using an instrument called "Management of Innovative Education in Universities for Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals Questionnaire" (MEUASDGQ). Experts validated the instrument, and a Cronbach Alpha was used to calculate the reliability coefficient, which came out at 0.87 and was considered reliable. The Z-test statistics was employed to evaluate the hypotheses at the 0.05 alpha level of significance, while the mean and standard deviation were utilized to address the study issues. The results showed, among other things, that creative education in universities is essential to meeting Nigeria's sustainable development goals. Creative education in universities can be managed successfully by taking a more humanistic approach, spending more money on ICT and internet resources, and providing and maintaining sufficient teaching and learning spaces. The study came to the conclusion that innovations and current educational technologies can help achieve sustainable development goals. The report suggested, among other things, that ICT centers be offered in universities, that faculty members receive frequent training via seminars and workshops, and that both digital and non-digital teaching techniques in learning should be adopted.
