Abstract

The researchers have examined Cultural festivals and sustainable tourism indicators in Imo state, Nigeria. The study used survey research design and questionnaire served as the instrument of data collection. For data analysis, the researchers used mean statistics and the 20.0 version of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). In line with data analysis, this study discovered that good security environment attracts people to cultural festival in Imo State, and there is significant effect of social infrastructure (road/electricity) on promotion of cultural festival in Imo State. It was recommended that there should be proper security within the environment of cultural tourism so as to attract numerous tourists which will contribute to the economy of the state. Also, there is need for improved infrastructural facilities more (especially transport systems like road etc, and electricity) so as to encourage tourism growth in the area.
