WORSHIP INNOVATION AMONG THE PENTECOSTALS IN NIGERIA

Abstract

This article explored the dynamic and innovative approaches to worship among Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. Using qualitative analytical approach as well as participant observation, this paper revealed the role of worship innovation among Pentecostal churches in attracting and retaining members which foster spiritual growth, and promoting community engagement. It equally found out that the Pentecostals in Nigeria are redefining traditional worship practices, while incorporating contemporary elements such as music, technology and social media to create vibrant and engaging worship experiences. The paper furthered argued that some of these creativities, especially in the area of healing and deliverance are unbiblical, unnecessary and raises moral questions. The paper ended by positing that worship must be bible based; for worship is prescribed in the Bible.
