BETWEEN POLITICS AND ETHNO-RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN KADUNA: AN APPRAISAL OF GOVERNANCE, 2004-2015

Abstract
The phenomenon of politics and ethno-religious conflict is a problem that has a recent need of great attention by the government of Kaduna, Nigeria and people of Nigeria and more indeed the global south nations. Conflict is a fact of personal life, it happens on between groups, within families and right in the middle of most personal relationship. The idea of using conflict to achieve peace might be well oriented in by strategists who most times have become much selfish when taking the interest of the state at the center piece of the theory. The nature of politics in modern society could be deduced to be having the agenda of manipulation and ethnocentricity which conflict is a mere tool to achieving its course. This study examines the nature of conflict in Kaduna State with a special reference to politics, ethnicity and religion; as factors responsible for the continuous crisis which could hinder the human and general development of the area. The paper uses historical methodology to conclusion and posits good governance as non-kinetics alternative for stability.
