Abstract

This paper examines Nigeria’s economic hardship and end bad government protest. The paper adopt qualitative method and secondary data were used to analyze the study. Bad governance entails systemic corruption and a lack of openness, accountability, arbitrary policymaking and the deception of those who are ruled. Systemic corruption and poor management of nation’s resources, fuel subsidy removal, unemployment, and lack of infrastructure had been adjudge as fundamental factors that propel end bad government protest. Thus, social unrest, loss of life and wanton destruction of properties, high level of poverty, high inflation, reducing purchasing power and brain drain becomes some debilitating effects on individuals, household and industries. Strengthening governance and accountability, economic diversification, prioritizing infrastructure development, improve working conditions of workers and enhance remuneration and benefits were some recommendations made.
