AN APPRAISAL OF GREEN BUILDING PRACTICES AMONGST CONSTRUCTION PRACTITIONERS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The process of creating health-conscious buildings that are efficiently planned and built using an environmentally sound approach is known as "green building." Green building integrates a highly diverse set of strategies and processes aimed at minimizing the harm that building imposes on the environment and people. The negative environmental impact of buildings has sparked a demand for improved practices, leading to the development of the concept of "green building”. Quantitative methods were used in the study's design. For this study, a total of 50 respondents constituted the sample size including 15 Builders, 15 Quantity surveyors, 10 Engineers and 10 Architects. Questionnaires were used to gather data and were analysed using descriptive analysis and were transformed into dependent variables, which were influenced by independent variables. According to the study's findings, professionals working in the built environment in Nigeria are aware of the green building techniques that can be used in construction projects. The practice seems to be of moderate interest. Although there may have been variations in methodology, the outcome appeared to be in line with the findings of previous comparable research.
