Abstract
The study presents a conceptual review of self-efficacy on investment intention through the use of theory of planned behavior (TPB) and Social Cognitive Learning theory. The main objective is to review concepts of self-efficacy and establish the linkage with the investment intention in Micro small and medium enterprise. Specifically, the review of the context of self-efficacy and the investment intention are underpinned by the TPB and Social Cognitive Learning theory to confirm the link. The student intention to venture into investments will be attained when the behavior is planned. Thus, it has been established from the literature of all the variables that there is a link between self-efficacy and investment intention. It is recommended that individuals and the students should have self-confidence and believe in their capability to venture into any task that may come their way. Additionally, the university, government and the society at large should expose students to so many opportunities that if harness will enable the students to venture into business and become self-reliant and this which will increase their intention level.
