Abstract

Performance of broiler finisher fed diets containing locally prepared premix at different inclusion level tagged T1, T2, T3 and T4 were compounded respectively. In four 4 weeks experiment, using two hundred (200) ross 308 birds were used in the experiment group replicated five times each treatment had 10 birds per treatment group. Feed intake and body weight gain were determine and compared. Result of feed intake, feed conversion ratio was significantly different (P>0.05) for all treatment while body weight gain and mortality rate differed significantly different (P<0.05) for all treatment. Feeding birds with diets containing locally prepared premix meal at finisher phase enhance the growth performance of the animals. It is recommended that, further investigation should be carried out to determine the high inclusion level of locally prepared premix meal should be conduct in the study area in order to ascertain the optimum inclusion level in a poultry diets.
